Ingredients for Spicy and Sour Seaweed Salad: 100 grams of seaweed, 1 small carrot, 1 small chili pepper, 1 spring onion, 2 cloves of garlic, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar, 2 grams of sugar, a few drops of sesame oil.
Method:


Step 1: Prepare the main ingredients – seaweed, carrot, chili pepper, garlic.


Step 2: Grate the carrot, wash the seaweed to remove salt residue, and rinse it several times.


Step 3: Blanch the carrot for 30 seconds.


Step 4: Blanch the seaweed for 2 minutes, adding a tablespoon of rice vinegar to remove the fishy smell.


Step 5: Prepare the sauce – in a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar, a pinch of sugar, 0.5 tablespoons of sesame oil, chopped chili pepper, and minced garlic until well combined.


Step 6: Cut the seaweed, carrot, and spring onion into sections, place in a container, pour over the sauce, and mix evenly.


Step 7: The Spicy and Sour Seaweed Salad is ready.


Step 8: The salad is tangy, refreshing, low in fat, and low in calories.


Cooking Tips and Precautions:


1. My seaweed is salted, so it needs to be washed several times to remove the sticky liquid and some of the salt.


2. Adding a tablespoon of white vinegar or rice vinegar during blanching can help remove the fishy smell.


3. For those on a fat-reducing diet, the amount of sugar in the recipe is actually very small, so there’s no need to worry about it. What you really need to avoid are sugar and oil mixtures like desserts, cakes, milk tea, and fried foods.
